Nasir Rajpoot is GSK Professor of Computational Pathology and the founding Director of Tissue Image Analytics (TIA) Centre at the University of Warwick. Prior to his PhD in Computer Science from Warwick 2001, he completed his postgraduate training from PIEAS (Pakistan) and Yale University (USA). His current research focus is on the research and development of AI and machine learning algorithms for the study of histological and multi-omic markers, aimed at early detection, risk stratification and personalised treatment of cancer.
Prof Rajpoot has been active in the Digital & Computational Pathology (DCP) community for over two decades now. He has published over 350 research papers in top journals and conferences in the area and has delivered over 100 keynote and invited talks. He is a co-founder and CEO/CSO of Histofy, a spinout from his group at Warwick.
Until recently (March 2024), Prof Rajpoot served as a co-Director of £15m PathLAKE, a national Centre of Excellence (CoE) on AI in pathology in the UK. He has been a Wolfson Fellow at the Royal Society and a Turing Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute.
