Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre was gifted its name by Ngāi Tūāhuriri, who are tangata whenua (people of the land) for the area on which Te Pae Christchurch is located. The venue has been designed as Ōtautahi Christchurch’s ‘gathering place’.
